    • West Bend Municipal Electric
    • West Bend Municipal Electric is a member of the North Iowa Municipal Electric Cooperative Association (NIMECA). Membership in NIMECA has provided West Bend Municipal Electric with a dependable market both for the swapping and pooling of NIMECA members output and for the purchase of economically priced power and energy. West Bend Municipal Electric maintains 3 generating diesel units. The electric utility currently owns 4.447 MW accredited net generating capacity locally. In addition, West Bend also owns 1 MW of the 855 MW MidAmerican generating plant near Council Bluffs, Iowa.

    • West Bend Municipal Gas
    • Natural gas is provided through Clayton Energy and transported to the city over Northern Gas Company lines to the city gate (TBS). The City's Natural Gas System is looped and operates at approximately 20 PSI. The system is cathodically protected which provides added protection to the wrapped steel lines. The line size and pressure indicates that the City could handle a major expansion and in such case would not constitute any inadequacies.

    • West Bend Municipal Utilities
    • The city's water supply is provided by four deep wells and treated at the water plant before being pumped to the town. The construction of the current water facility was completed in 1985. Upgrades to the system continue as well as annual inspections, which enables the city to remain compliant with DNR regulations.

    • West Bend Municipal Utilities
    • Sewer Main is located on the west side of each of the lots. The construction of the new wastewater treatment facility was completed in 1998. The new system replaced an existing mechanical treatment plant that was 54 years old. With the new site the City of West Bend is able to remain compliant with DNR stipulations.

    • Northwest Telephone Cooperative Association
    • Northwest Telephone Cooperative Association provides telephone, cable television, and Internet services. Founded in 1963, the cooperative is based in Havelock, Iowa, with an office in West Bend. Starting in 1994, Northwest began providing Internet service to the area, and now offers both dial-up and high-speed broadband Internet, as well as networking, servers, web hosting and design, telephone systems, and digital cellular service.

  • Rebate(If Qualified)
    • To qualify for rebate you will have to be the first purchaser and as the owner you will have 12 months to erect a building. Funds will be made available when sidewalls are erected.
    • If second or consecutive lot is for the same project and used for outside warehouse or parking lot, it too will be subject to receive the rebate. If such lot or lots are sold within a seven-year period owner will have to return all rebate funds plus a 3 percent per year penalty.
