KCEDC Intern/CEO Luncheon

The Kossuth County Economic Development Corporation will sponsor an Intern/CEO Luncheon on July 11, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Algona KC Hall.  This event will allow Kossuth County interns and local CEO’s to have an opportunity to network and gain business knowledge.  Groups of interns will be able to ask questions to learn more about the various businesses in the county and what attributes the CEO’s are looking for in potential employees.  Another highlight is the famous traditional “Whittemore Legion Burgers” that will be served and donated by Stuart Simonson.

This year’s guest speaker will be Bruce Nelson. He will speak on teamwork, entrepreneurship, and how to achieve success.  Bruce is a 1998 graduate of Emmetsburg High School. He then attended the University of Iowa, where he walked-on as a Tight End for the Hawkeye football team. Graduating from the University of Iowa in 2003, he went as a 2nd round draft pick to the Carolina Panthers.

In 2009, Bruce started the 5 Island Bay Development. In 2010, Bruce along with Chad Anderson started a Custom Baling Operation. He currently lives in the Emmetsburg area and farms with Dick & Jim Nelson.

Many business leaders, over the course of 14 years, have made not just a financial commitment but a personal commitment.  They understand the importance of mentoring our college students, not just in the workplace, but here at the CEO Luncheon.  For more information, call the KCEDC office at 515-295-7979.
